Senior Vice President Global Issues at Robert Bosch Stiftung

Markus Lux has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Markus began their career as a Freier Mitarbeiter at ZDF in 1993 and worked there until 1995. Markus then worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Rigas Pedagogijas un Izglitibas Vadibas Augstskola from 1996 to 1997. Following this, they served as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Museum Jews in Latvia from 1997 to 1999, and as a Visiting Lecture at Latvijas Universitate from 1997 to 1999. From 1999 to 2002, they worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Liepajas Pedagogiska Akademija.

In 2002, Markus Lux joined the Robert Bosch Stiftung as a Program Director and held this role until 2011. Markus then became the Head of Section from 2012 to 2013, followed by Deputy Head of Department until 2019. From 2016 to 2019, they were the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development at the organization. In 2020, they served as the Bereichsleiter Bürgergesellschaft, and currently holds the role of Senior Vice President Global Issues, where they focus on topics such as democracy, immigration society, peace, climate change, migration, and inequality.

Markus Lux earned a Master of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 1996. Prior to that, they attended Latvijas Universitate for a year in 1995-1996, studying History and Political Science.
