Bastiaan Franssen is an experienced project manager and technical lead at the Robert Koch Institute since June 2020, with a previous role as chairman of the board at Medicine for Life from 2018 to 2021. François served as a business analyst at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) from July 2016 to February 2020 and founded MEDocent Informatics, where engagement lasted from February 2013 to March 2018. Additional experience includes working as an innovation engineer at Södersjukhuset from November 2013 to December 2015 and as an information technology consultant for Gemeente Maastricht between August 2005 and May 2008. Academically, Bastiaan holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Public Health and a Master of Science in Health Information/Medical Records Technology from Umeå University and Karolinska Institutet, respectively, as well as a Master of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Sapienza Università di Roma and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Zuyd Hogeschool.
