Head Of Evidence-based Public Health, Center For International Health Protection at Robert Koch Institute

Charbel El Bcheraoui, PhD, MSc has a diverse work experience in the field of public health. Charbel is currently the Head of Evidence-Based Public Health at the Robert Koch Institute, where they lead the Center for International Health Protection. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant Professor and Acting Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation from 2012 to 2019. Charbel has also worked as an Epidemiologist in the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness and as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Saint Joseph.

Charbel El Bcheraoui, PhD, MSc, obtained their first Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from The Lebanese University, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Charbel then pursued a second Master's degree in Biological Anthropology from the University of The Mediterranean, completing their studies in 2004. El Bcheraoui continued their academic journey at the University of The Mediterranean, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Anthropology in 2007.
