Daniel Faensen

Daniel Faensen currently serves as Head of Unit for Business Analysis and IT Product Management at the Robert Koch Institute since April 2020, while also holding the position of Deputy Head of the Subdepartment IT. Previous experience includes leading the Business Analysis group at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control from April 2010 to April 2020 and serving as Deputy Head of Section at the Robert Koch Institute from February 2002 to March 2010. Daniel Faensen also worked as an IT Expert for the ECDC and has a background in academia as a Senior Researcher and Project Leader at Freie Universität Berlin, where responsibilities included teaching databases and software engineering. Educational qualifications include a Staatsexamen in Computer Science and Biology from both Freie Universität Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin, completed between 1987 and 1995.
