Joseph Prescott has a diverse work experience in the field of research and immunology. Joseph is currently the Deputy Director of BSL4 and Group Lead for Comparative Immunology of Risk Group-4 Viruses at the Robert Koch Institute since 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Colorado State University from 2017 to 2018. Joseph also served as a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 2009 to 2017. Their earlier experience includes being a Graduate Student at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine from 2001 to 2007.

Joseph Prescott received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry from Colorado Mesa University in 2001. Joseph then pursued further education at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2007.
