Eleanor Tarvin

Eleanor Tarvin is a Human Resource professional who has spent more than 30 years helping businesses balance the needs of the organization and those of individual employees. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a proud alumna of the Atlanta Public Schools System, Brown University, and Auburn University, she credits much of her success to the role of the arts and the Woodruff Arts Center throughout her education.  

Tarvin has served in a number of capacities throughout her career, including Human Resource Director for Rich’s, Federated Department Stores, Marshall’s/TJMaxx Southeastern Distribution Division, and Textron Corporation. Tarvin has also served as a consultant to numerous organizations, including the Toyota Corporation.

Throughout her career, it has been Tarvin’s personal goal to help organizations achieve success through people, its most important asset. It should be the mission of Human Resources leadership to help the organization to keep its overall goals and its employees successfully connected.

Woodruff Arts Center is a visual and performing arts center located in Atlanta, Georgia. The center houses three not-for-profit arts divisions on one campus. Opened in 1968, the Woodruff Arts Center is home to the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the High Museum of Art.
