Andrew Sheng

Andrew Sheng is a highly skilled engineer with extensive experience in mechanical and structural engineering, currently serving as a Stress Engineer at Robinson Helicopter Company since October 2024. Prior to this, Andrew worked as a Structural Engineer at Xos Trucks and as a Mechanical Engineer at ResMed. Andrew's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree from UCLA, where a significant focus was placed on advanced engineering practices and failure analysis. Andrew has developed innovative computational methods for crack propagation modeling and has led experimental investigations on material failures in high-temperature applications, demonstrating a solid proficiency in various testing techniques and finite element analysis. Additionally, Andrew has a strong background in teaching and mentoring, having served as a Teaching Associate/Fellow at UCLA, where instructional contributions were made in strength of materials and mechanical design courses.
