Tim Friez has extensive work experience in the robotics and technology education sector. Tim is currently the VP of Educational Technology at VEX Robotics since 2019. Before that, they co-founded Robomatter in 2004, where they held various roles including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. Tim was responsible for executing the vision and efficiency strategies crucial to the growth and success of the business. Additionally, they functioned as an original developer and project manager of ROBOTC programming software, providing technical strategy and market expertise to the sales force. Prior to their work at Robomatter, Tim worked at Carnegie Mellon University as a Software Engineer and EdTech Developer, contributing to academic research and implementing technology-based curriculum in classrooms. Tim has a strong background in software engineering and has made significant contributions to the field of robotics education.

Tim Friez obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering from Robert Morris University. Tim attended the university from 2003 to 2007.
