Liam O'Rourke is an experienced educator and political figure, currently serving as a Teacher of Economics at Holy Cross College since August 2022. O'Rourke has a long-standing involvement with The Labour Party, holding multiple roles including LCF Vice Chair & Panel Coordinator, CLP Campaigns Coordinator, and Branch Treasurer since June 2009. Additionally, O'Rourke has been a Cabinet Member for Environment and Facilities and a Council Member at Rochdale Borough Council since May 2012. Prior teaching experience includes a role as a Teacher of History at Blessed John Henry Newman RC College and a Student Teacher at Wigan and West Lancashire Catholic Schools Direct. O'Rourke earned a Master’s degree in Political Science focusing on Democracy and Elections from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the same institution. Other roles include Caseworker for Tony Lloyd MP and various positions within North West Young Labour.
