Adriano Mendes is a Principal Scientist and People Leader at Roche, currently focusing on sequencing solutions. Previously, Adriano served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Pretoria, working on diagnostics and surveillance platforms for arboviruses, alongside studies on SARS-CoV-2. Adriano earned a PhD in Virology from Purdue University, where research explored alphavirus RNA replication and assembly. Prior education includes a Master’s degree in Virology from Rhodes University and a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and Biochemistry.
