Alexander Nierth

Alexander Nierth is a bioorganic chemist currently serving as a Research Leader at Roche Molecular Systems since 2025. With a proven track record in protein engineering, fluorescence sensor development, and nucleic acid chemistry, they previously held roles as Principal Scientist II and I at Roche from 2021 to 2025. Alexander's research experience includes a postdoctoral tenure at The Scripps Research Institute and UC Berkeley, focusing on the development of fluorescence sensors for signaling gases and hemoprotein engineering.
