Michael Pettengill has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Michael started their career as a Software Engineer at Hadron/Westinghouse in 1990 and worked there until 1995. Michael then joined Xelus as a Software Engineering Manager in 1995 and stayed with the company until 2005. During their time at Xelus, they managed software engineering projects and teams.
In 2005, they joined Rochester Software Associates as the Director of Engineering. In this role, they strategized and advised senior executives on technology-based decisions and collaborated with cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale solutions. Michael also initiated a successful student co-op partnership with RIT and implemented modern security best practices to improve application security. Additionally, they led the redesign of the ordering UI and developed a custom software solution for a US bank, generating $5M in revenue.
Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong leadership skills, effective team management, and a focus on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.
Michael Pettengill obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Software Development and Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, from 2001 to 2005.
