Jonathan Stephenson

Jonathan Stephenson is an experienced local government leader currently serving as Chief Executive of both Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council. Since November 2019, Jonathan has developed strategic corporate initiatives, including the Brentwood 2025 strategy, which significantly increased council income. Additionally, a partnership with Rochford District Council has been established to merge management teams, yielding considerable savings. Jonathan holds responsibilities in various national and regional organizations, advocating for climate change and infrastructure as the South Essex Councils Lead CEO for ASELA and representing the East of England on the District Council's Network Chief Executive Group.
