Nicholas Sims

Nicholas Sims is a Life Science Research Professional 1 at the Stanford University School of Medicine, focusing on the structural basis of GPCR conformational change. Simultaneously, Nicholas serves as an Emergency Medical Technician at Rock Medicine, providing EMT-B skills at events in the Bay Area. Previous research experience includes work at UC Berkeley in the Chen Lab studying mitochondrial metabolic checkpoints and aging in hematopoietic stem cells, as well as at the Park Lab investigating mitochondrial protein import. Nicholas has also contributed to emergency medical care at ProTransport-1 and has held roles as an Undergraduate Learning Mentor. Earlier experiences encompass participation in neuroscience research at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience, mathematics instruction at Mathnasium, and observational roles in pediatric healthcare settings. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology from UC Berkeley.
