Tarana Nigam is a PhD student at Deutsches Primatenzentrum GmbH, focusing on sensory predictions in the primate face processing network under the supervision of Dr. Caspar Schwiedrzik. Tarana has participated in a variety of research and educational experiences, including an exchange program at The Rockefeller University, where involvement in fMRI studies with awake macaque monkeys took place. Prior educational engagements include a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Biotechnology, respectively, along with multiple research internships at prestigious institutions such as European Neuroscience Institute-Goettingen and National Centre for Biological Sciences, contributing to topics in cognitive neuroscience and neurogenesis.
