Tim Stearns

Tim Stearns is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of biology, currently serving as Dean and Professor at The Rockefeller University since September 2022. Previously, Tim held multiple roles at Stanford University, including Professor Emeritus, Professor of Biology, and acting Dean of Research, among others, from August 1993 until September 2022. Tim has also acted as an advisor to US Government Agencies since June 2002 and served as a Professor of Genetics at Stanford University Medical Center from 1997 to 2022. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Cornell University.
