John Fahnenstiel

John Fahnenstiel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. John most recently worked at Rocket Lawyer, starting in 2018, where they held various positions, including VP of Finance Operations and Sr. Director of Finance Operations. Prior to that, they were a Director of FP&A and Manager of FP&A at the same company. John also worked as a Financial Analyst and Sr. Financial Analyst at Rocket Lawyer.

Before joining Rocket Lawyer, John worked at Afton Partners from 2015 to 2018 as an Associate. In this role, they completed numerous projects to improve the operating efficiency of schools and developed innovative financial projection models for various districts across the country. John also worked closely with district leadership and assisted the Illinois State Board of Education on implementing the financial component of the Every Child Succeeds Act.

John's earlier experiences include working as a Reporting Intern at Bloomberg LP, a Statistics Consultant at Palm Island Enviro-Informatics, a Graduate Assistant at the University of Minnesota, and a Reporter at The Statesman, where they received awards for their investigative reporting on the school's budgetary crisis.

Additionally, John has worked as an Analyst at Jefferies & Company and as a Summer Analyst at FBR.

John Fahnenstiel earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Harvard University between the years 2007 and 2011. John then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2013 to 2015. Prior to their higher education, John completed their high school education at North Muskegon High School between the years 2004 and 2007.
