Brendan Finch

Brendan Finch has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Brendan is currently the CEO of RocketLit (YC S16) since June 2016. In November 2017, they worked as an Unreasonable Fellow at Unreasonable, where they focused on solving the global literacy problem through The Project Literacy Lab.

Prior to these roles, Brendan served as the CEO of Birdbrain Education LLC from April 2010 to June 2016. Brendan also worked as a Biology and Anatomy/Physiology Teacher at Green Dot Public Schools from July 2013 to June 2014, and as a Virtual Teacher at California Virtual Academies from September 2012 to June 2013. In addition, they worked as a Physics Teacher at Green Dot Public Schools from July 2011 to June 2012 and as a Math/Science Teacher at Los Angeles Unified School District from August 2007 to June 2010.

Brendan Finch began their career as a Corps Member at Teach For America, starting in 2007 and ending in 2009.

Brendan Finch completed their primary education at Thousand Oaks High School. After graduating from high school, they attended UC Santa Barbara from 2002 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy, Psychology, and Music. Later, they pursued further studies at Loyola Marymount University from 2007 to 2009, earning a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a specialization in Elementary Education.
