Based in our Haslemere office, but working globally, some international travel will be required (usually short business trips). We are looking for candidates with an excellent academic record followed by experience with a major operator, and also work with an independent oil company or consultancy firm. As an Expert Reservoir Engineer, you are capable of performing high quality reservoir engineering studies and analyses ranging from high quality technical studies supporting development projects and operations to dispute resolution acting as a Technical Expert, or Expert Witness, where your recognised accumulated experience and judgement will be most highly valued. Working as part of, or managing an integrated team, the role will encompass a broad range of activities including: • Performing reservoir engineering studies for field development planning and optimisation. • Conducting independent reserves and resources audits and/or certifications of assets/portfolios to industry standards (PRMS, SEC etc). • Creating production forecasts and recovery forecasts. • Undertaking due diligence evaluations for asset acquisition • Providing expert opinion on third party reserves reports and operator development plans. • Acting as Expert Witness in legal disputes, or as the Expert in Expert Determinations. • Managing all aspects of client liaison and reporting for your specific projects. • Working as part of the team in relation to integrated studies. • Striving to deliver projects on-time, within budget and to the highest level of professionalism feasible – drive technical excellence throughout. • Establishing, maintaining and developing client relationships, promoting the Company’s reputation and capabilities to current and potential clients. • Being proactive in developing new business opportunities. • Being proactive in developing your technical capabilities, in keeping abreast of industry practices and technologies, and also in the capture and sharing of knowledge and best practices across the Company. • Attending relevant industry events to represent and promote the Company’s services.

The key to this role is having a broad reservoir engineering background, combined with the desire to succeed in a dynamic and co-operative consultancy practice sharing in the Company’s profits.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have: • A degree in Petroleum Engineering or related subject essential, preferably supplemented with an MSc or PhD in Petroleum Engineering. • A minimum of 20 years oil and gas industry experience essential. • Experience working as a consultant, with a background working on operated assets for a well-recognised oil company. • Proven experience in some of the following areas of reservoir engineering desired: o Resource and asset evaluations o Oil and gas field production forecasting using classical reservoir engineering techniques material balance modelling and dynamic simulation modelling. o Hydrocarbon recovery mechanisms and recovery factor estimation. o Field Appraisal and Development Planning. o Reserves Reporting or Auditing. o Due diligence studies. o Field operations • Competent user of reservoir engineering software essential. The Company uses an array of industry standard software such as Eclipse, Petrel, Prosper etc. • Previous technical lead experience with the ability to scope, manage and/or carry out project independently or as part of an integrated team essential. • Strong business and commercial acumen essential.
