Sandy Coomer

Sandy Coomer is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in both the literary and medical fields. Currently serving as Director of Rockvale Writers' Colony since April 2018 and as the Founding Editor of Rockvale Review since January 2017, Sandy Coomer has a strong commitment to innovative creative writing that blends poetry with visual art and music. Additionally, Sandy Coomer has been self-employed as a poet and artist since 2009, specializing in mixed media art and acrylic abstract painting. Prior to the literary pursuits, Sandy Coomer worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville from 1987 to 1993 and at International Clinical Laboratories from 1985 to 1987, focusing on the fields of Microbiology, Immunology, and Toxicology. Sandy Coomer holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a certificate in creative writing from MTSU Write (The Writers Loft).
