Zhuling Chen's work experience includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer at RockX since June 2021. Prior to that, they were a Co-Founder at aelf from September 2017 to March 2021. From September 2013 to August 2017, Chen worked as a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger, where they were involved in key projects such as assisting in the liberalization of an Asian country's banking sector and helping a leading Asian Telco Operator transition to a value-driven business model. Before that, from February 2013 to August 2013, they worked on an industry-collaboration project at Infineon Technologies, where they developed a framework to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction in a factory. Chen was also the Panel Director at MIT-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum from September 2011 to September 2012, facilitating collaboration between China and the U.S. in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. They served as an Operations Consultant at Medtronic from January 2012 to August 2012, implementing an improved manufacturing system design and designing visual management tools. Furthermore, as a Process Engineer Intern at ExxonMobil from July 2009 to February 2010, Chen simulated chemical processes, identified energy waste sources, and prepared production and economic summary reports.

Zhuling Chen began their education at Chengdu No. 7 Middle School from 2004 to 2007. Zhuling then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2007 to 2011. As part of their undergraduate studies, they were also an exchange student at Hamburg University of Technology from 2010 to 2011. After completing their bachelor's degree, Zhuling Chen joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011 and obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Manufacturing in 2012. Zhuling further pursued a Master of Engineering by research in Engineering Systems and Design at the Singapore University of Technology and Design from 2012 to 2013.
