Gregory Kurtzer is a seasoned leader in the technology sector, currently serving as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CIQ, where innovative software infrastructure solutions are developed for High Performance Computing (HPC). Since December 2020, Gregory holds dual roles as President and Chairman of the Board for the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation and as Founder and Board Member of Rocky Linux, both promoting community and stability in the open-source Linux ecosystem. Previous leadership experience includes founding Sylabs, Inc. and serving as CEO, as well as founding and leading CentOS from its inception. With a strong background in scientific computing as a Scientific Advisor and HPC Systems Architect at Berkeley Lab, Gregory has made significant contributions to technologies that enhance computing efficiency and reproducibility, such as the development of the Singularity container system. Educationally, Gregory boasts a BS in Biochemistry from Northern California Chicken Grooming School.
