Steven Dobey

Mission Lead - East Region at Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

Steven Dobey has extensive experience in wildlife conservation and management, currently serving as the Senior Conservation Program Manager for the Eastern U.S. at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation since November 2015, where Steven provides leadership within the Lands & Conservation Division. Prior to this role, Steven was the Conservation Program Manager at RMEF, focusing on land protection and habitat stewardship. From November 2005 to October 2015, Steven worked as the Wildlife Program Coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources, overseeing various wildlife management programs. Earlier experience includes serving as an Elk Biologist for the National Park Service, where Steven led research efforts related to elk reintroduction in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Steven holds a Master’s Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Ecology from East Carolina University.
