Leia Guccione, P.E., serves as the Managing Director of RMI’s US Program, leading efforts to foster a unified clean energy and climate movement while managing a team of 30 professionals. With extensive experience in both the private sector and military, Leia has led initiatives focused on equitable decarbonization, grid modernization, and innovative energy solutions. As a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the US Navy Reserve, Leia holds various leadership roles, currently serving as the Commanding Officer of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 18. Leia's educational background includes an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of London and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science from Iowa State University. Past roles include significant contributions to the US Navy, Black & Veatch, and the Society of Women Engineers, emphasizing a commitment to advancing technology and promoting diversity in engineering.
