Carl Atencio

Carl Atencio has a diverse work experience in the transportation industry. Carl participated in the 2022 Latinos In Transit Leadership Academy, gaining knowledge and skills in executive leadership. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Operations & Mechanical for Rocky Mountaineer in 2021. From 2019 to present, Carl held the position of Chair for the Rolling Stock Equipment Technical Forum at the American Public Transportation Association. Carl also worked as the Chief Mechanical Officer at RTD Commuter Rail-Denver Transit Operators, where they were responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing fleet performance from 2015 to 2021. Carl started their career as an ElectroMechanic at RTD Light Rail in 2014 and later became the Mechanical Superintendent at Saratoga & North Creek Railway from 2009 to 2014.

Carl Atencio attended Denver Automotive and Diesel College from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a Certificate in Diesel and Automotive Technology.
