Joost van der Weijde

Joost van der Weijde has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Joost founded ROCSYS in 2019 and is currently serving as the Founder. Prior to that, they were a PhD Researcher at TU Delft from 2014 to 2019, where they worked on research related to self-sensing of coil springs and a novel artificial muscle. In 2017, Joost co-founded SpringScan B.V., a company specializing in smartifying products with mechanical springs. Joost played a crucial role in investigating market potential, securing funding, bringing in potential clients, and working towards a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Additionally, Joost was an Intern at ASML in 2013, where they worked on the design of a fractional order PID controller. Joost began their career as a salesman at Trabajar in 2008.

Joost van der Weijde's education history includes primary education at C.N.S. Lisse from 1992 to 2000. Afterwards, they attended Herbert Vissers College Nieuw Vennep from 2000 to 2006 for secondary education, without obtaining a degree.

From 2006 to 2014, Joost van der Weijde pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Later, from 2014 to 2020, they continued their education at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
