Kristie S. Wendelberger has diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kristie S. is currently serving as the Climate Smart Project Director at Rodale Institute, where they manage and runs an interdisciplinary agricultural research project. Their responsibilities include examining the effects of utilizing cover crops in organic and conventional diverse vegetable systems, addressing GHG emissions, soil health, economic and social impacts, and developing ways to market and educate consumers about Climate Smart Commodities. Prior to their current role, Kristie served as the Director of Research at the Southeast Organic Resource Center in Rodale Institute from 2020 to 2022, where they contributed to the advancement of organic farming practices in the Southeast region.
From 2016 to 2020, Kristie worked at Everglades Foundation as an Outdoor Education and Outreach Coordinator. Kristie S. played a key role in organizing educational tours and managing the John Marshall Everglades Internship Program, which aimed to raise awareness about the significance of Everglades restoration.

Kristie S. Wendelberger completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Plant Biology at Ohio University from 1994 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Ecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, attending from 2007 to 2010. Continuing their academic journey, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology from Florida International University, where they studied from 2010 to 2016.
