Sam Bucolo

Sam Bucolo is a seasoned professional in design and innovation, currently serving as the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Design Council since September 2020, where efforts focus on embedding design-led innovation as a national priority in Australia. In July 2023, Bucolo took on the role of Chief of Design at RØDE, responsible for overseeing research, development, and design across the product range. Previously, leadership roles were held at Meat & Livestock Australia, the University of Technology Sydney as Design Thinker in Residence, and as a professor across multiple faculties, where significant contributions were made to design-led innovation and industry engagement. Bucolo holds a PhD in Design Experimentation and a Masters of Applied Science in Industrial Design from Queensland University of Technology.
