Don Chilton

Don Chilton began their work experience in 1984 as a Professional Musician and Music Educator, serving as a Senior Chief Musician in the US Navy until 2010. During this time, they also worked as a Private Trumpet Instructor. In 2010, Don joined Rhode Island Military Funeral Honors as a Military Bugler, a position they held until 2015. In 2013, they became the Band Director and General Music Teacher at Newport Public Schools - Thompson Middle School, where they currently work.

Don Chilton completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music at Thomas Edison State University in 2010. Don then pursued additional education at the University of Rhode Island from 2010 to 2012, earning a Teacher Certification in Music Teacher Education. In March 2015, Don obtained a Professional, All Grades Music Teacher certification from the Rhode Island Department of Education.
