Valerie Shull has extensive work experience in the field of Spanish language education. Valerie started their career in 2000 as a Spanish Teacher and Program Director at Rogers Park Montessori School. In this role, they developed and implemented a Spanish as a second language program for children aged 6-14, following established benchmarks and teaching practices. Valerie also updated the curriculum based on current research and organized a language immersion trip to Costa Rica for middle school students.

In 2018, Valerie joined Avant Assessment as a Spanish Rater. Valerie evaluated and assessed Spanish language proficiency levels for this testing and assessment services company until January 2021.

More recently, Valerie started working as a National Language Consultant for Vista Higher Learning in 2021.

Valerie Shull earned a Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Theater with a minor in Spanish from Loyola University Chicago between 1990 and 1994. Valerie later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Spanish at Roosevelt University from 2005 to 2007. In 2020, Valerie completed an online course on Blended Language Learning: Design and Practice for Teachers offered by the University of Colorado Boulder through Coursera. Valerie also obtained certifications from ACTFL, including ACTFL MOPI in 2019 and ACTFL OPI Training, 4 Day Course Completion (year not specified).
