Jair Sarmiento

Jair Sarmiento has been working in the geoscience industry since 2005. In 2005, they worked as an Environmental Geologist for Hidrogeocol, where they consulted for Shell Colombia on environmental remediation and conducted soil and groundwater investigations. In 2006, they worked as a Field Geologist for ESAG, where they conducted surface geology for the CHOCO 2D seismic project in western Colombia, collected cartography data and rock samples, and mapped geological features. From 2007 to 2021, they worked for Baker Hughes as an Engineering Technical Leader Geosciences-Geosteering Lead, providing customer support and problem-focused solutions, supervising prejob activities in advance of well programs, and providing remote and in-house support. In 2021, they began working as a Technical Sales Representative - Geosteering Specialist for ROGII Inc., introducing their products to the local market in Colombia, supervising pre well activities, delivering geosteering services, and monitoring lateral wells and azimuthal resistivity.

Jair Sarmiento obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science, General from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia between 1997 and 2002.
