James Carey

James Carey is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cloud management and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Rogue Wave Software since July 2017, James is part of the development team for the Akana product. Previously, at IBM from June 1984 to June 2017, James held various influential roles, including development lead for IBM Cloud Automation Manager (CAM) and Senior Software Engineer for IBM Container Service, demonstrating leadership in both agile product innovation and open-source contributions. As a Master Inventor, James played a key role in enhancing IBM’s patent portfolio and was a core member of the OpenStack Oslo project. James holds a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor's in Physics from Grinnell College.
