James Lareau has a strong background in sculpting and model making. James started their career at Boggs Studios as a beginning sculptor, where they gained valuable experience working with clients such as Mattel, Hasbro, Applause, and Strottman. James then joined Sciacca Studios as a Senior Sculptor, leading a team of eight employees and helping to build a shop to accommodate the sculpting needs of various clients. After that, James worked at JPM Creative as a Senior Sculptor and Manager, where they were responsible for overseeing a team of five employees and establishing a shop capable of creating innovative designs. James later joined By George inc. as a Senior Sculptor and Model Maker, contributing to the development of a versatile shop for creating unique projects. James then worked at b-little as the lead sculptor for premium toys made for fast food chains such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway, and Long John Silver. James also had experience at Equity Marketing, where they built a shop for internalizing sculpting and was in charge of sculpting, molding, casting, painting, and rapid prototyping. Most recently, James has been working at Oakley as a Senior Sculptor, Model Maker, and 3D Artist, collaborating with designers to bring their visions into the 3D world and producing 3D prototypes.
James Lareau obtained their Associate's Degree in Art from Orange Coast College from 1987 to 1989. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach, from 1990 to 1993. In 2021, they furthered their education by completing a Certificate in Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on Additive Manufacturing.
