Willem van Den Brink

Willem Van Den Brink has a diverse range of work experience spanning over three decades. Willem has held various senior executive and leadership positions in different companies and industries.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2018, Van Den Brink was the Owner of WIDEM BVBA, providing consultancy and management services to clients in private equity, telecommunications, insurance, and retail. Willem also supported a London-based private equity firm in building a tech fund.

Prior to that, from 2005 to 2006, they were an Executive Board Member at Menzis, a company with over 2 million customers and a turnover of over €3 billion.

Van Den Brink's extensive experience also includes executive roles at KPN, where they served as the Executive Vice President of Marketing B2B, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication & Marketing, and Executive Vice President of Sales B2B. Willem played pivotal roles in reorganizing departments, developing strategies, and achieving revenue targets.

Their earlier experience includes roles as a Senior Marketing Manager, Senior Business Development Manager, and Area Manager R&D at KPN, where they led projects related to marketing, sales, and innovation.

Before joining KPN, Van Den Brink worked as an Applied Scientist in R&D at KPN Telecom, leading innovation projects related to codecs, network planning, and quality of service.

Willem began their career in 1986 as a Scientific Associate at NWO, where they led research projects and obtained their Ph.D.

Willem Van Den Brink completed a Master's degree in Physics at Radboud University from 1978 to 1986. Willem then went on to obtain their Doctorate degree at Utrecht University from 1986 to 1991. Their doctoral thesis focused on the aspects of spectro-temporal integration in auditory signal detection.
