UX Lead and Co-Founder at Roleverse

Emma Varjo has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Most recently, in 2022, they co-founded and worked as the UX Lead at Roleverse. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at HiQ Finland, first as a Software Designer, where they contributed to the development team of the FRENDS integration platform, and then as an Integration Consultant, working on improving implemented integration solutions and migrating solutions between different versions of BizTalk server.

Prior to that, from 2011 to 2013, they were a Software Developer at Atostek Oy, working on various projects involving C# and .NET programming, GUI development, database work, and integration.

In 2010, Emma worked as a part-time teacher at Tampereen teknillinen yliopisto, where they tutored a first-year honours programming course using C++.

Emma also gained experience as a Summer Trainee at Nokia Siemens Networks in 2010, developing a user interface using Java and Swing library, as well as at Interface3 in the same year, where they interned and contributed to the usability and design phase of an application for a SMART table.

Furthermore, in 2009, they worked as a Summer Trainee at Nokia Siemens Networks, studying the comparison between an open-source application server and the company's existing server.

Overall, Emma Varjo has a strong background in UX design, software development, integration, and teaching.

Emma Varjo completed their education in computer software engineering, with a Master of Science (MS) degree from Tampere University of Technology from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in software engineering and human-computer interaction from the same institution from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, they also attended The University of Edinburgh, where they studied informatics. Additionally, they obtained the Blue Prism Accredited certification from Blue Prism in August 2016.
