Sylvain Nicolay is currently serving as R&D Manager at ROLEX since February 2024. Previously, Sylvain held the position of Associate Professor at Université de Sherbrooke from September 2021 to January 2024, overseeing the 3IT Energy platform focused on renewable energy development and managing human and financial resources within a research group dedicated to quantum technology. Sylvain's extensive experience includes roles as Research Associate, Head of thin film and emerging PV sector at CSEM, and project leader at EPFL, where responsibilities involved managing research teams, coordinating large-scale projects, and developing semiconductor materials for photovoltaic applications. Sylvain earned a PhD in optoelectronic semiconductors and solid-state physics from EPFL and possesses a Master's Degree in Engineering Physics from École polytechnique de Bruxelles.
