Phil Chinnery has a diverse work experience in the field of athletic communications and operations. Phil started their career as an intern at Winthrop University in 2008 and later became a team manager for the baseball team in 2009.
In 2010, they joined the Florida League as the Director of League Operations, where they were responsible for marketing, information management, and overall growth of the league. Phil also served as a general manager for different teams within the league, overseeing staff, marketing efforts, sponsorships, and game operations.
From 2016 to 2021, Phil worked at Rollins College, where they held various roles such as Associate Director of Athletic Communications & Operations, Baseball Sports Information Director, and Facility Operations Manager. Phil handled tasks related to scorekeeping, live feeds, broadcasts, and website maintenance for baseball games. Additionally, they supervised the Alfond Sports Center and managed event set-up, breakdown, and collaboration with officials and visiting coaches.
In 2021, Phil joined Rhodes College as the Director of Athletic Media Relations, where they continued to utilize their skills in media relations and communications. Lastly, in 2022, they became the Director of Athletic Communications at Rollins College.
Phil Chinnery attended Winthrop University from 2005 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management.
