Tom MacKman

Tom Mackman is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in aerothermal systems and testing. Currently serving as a Product System Lead at Rolls-Royce since February 2025, Tom specializes in integrated systems and thermofluids while providing coaching and leadership across various projects. Prior to this role, Tom held multiple key positions at Reaction Engines from April 2016 to October 2025, including Head of Aerothermal, Systems, and Test, Head of Systems Architecture, and Product Lead for Zero Emissions Aerospace. Tom's technical background is supported by a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol, where research focused on improving CFD simulation data predictions. Earlier experiences include roles at Cambridge Flow Solutions Ltd., Airbus UK, and Advantage CFD, contributing significant expertise in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics.
