Mihai Alexandru Pop

Mihai Alexandru Pop is a Romanian-Canadian MBA advisor and former vice president of investment management for Europe at Balbec Capital LP. Mihai has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on distressed assets and transactions.

Pop began their career as a member of the IT team at the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors. Mihai then transitioned to transaction advisory services at EY, before becoming a partner at Osprey Partners. In this role, they were responsible for private asset management on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

In 2010, Pop joined APS Holding as the transactions leader and investment manager. In this role, they oversaw acquisitions of distressed pools of value from financial institutions across Europe. Mihai then joined Balbec Capital LP as the vice president of investment management for Europe in 2012. In this role, they led acquisition transactions of distressed assets across Central and Eastern Europe.

Most recently, Pop has been working as an MBA advisor at the Romanian-Canadian MBA. Mihai has also been a fund administrator at SmartStock since 2016.

Mihai Alexandru Pop holds an MBA from Bucharest School of Management, a BSc from Academia de Studii Economice din București, and a master's degree in communication and human resources from Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative din București. Mihai also attended Colegiul National Sf. Sava and Scoala Generala Nr. 7.
