Dr. Rossignol is a co-founder of the Company and has served as Chief Medical and Scientific Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors since its inception. He studied chemistry at the University of Paris where he received a doctorate degree in synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry, and then studied medicine specializing in Clinical Parasitology & Tropical Medicine. He synthetized nitazoxanide, a first in class antimicrobial agent. Dr. Rossignol spent more than 30 years developing and registering drugs around the world at SmithKline & French Laboratories (now GlaxoSmithKline) and Bristol Myers-Squibb.
Dr. Rossignol has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and holds 31 United States Patents on new drugs. He held faculty positions with the University of Paris and Stanford University in the United States as well as many other adjunct/visiting/clinical positions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Egypt and Peru. He also served as consultant and later expert in parasitic diseases at the World Health Organization between 1980 and 1991.
