Nico Janssens

Nico Janssens has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Nico is currently the CTO at Rombit, where they have been since January 2021. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Technology from April to December 2020. Nico also held the position of R&D Director from January 2018 to March 2020, and Technical Director in 2017 at the same company.

In 2017, Nico worked as an Expert at the Research Foundation Flanders - FWO. In 2018, they became the Owner of J+VC bvba and also served as the CTO of Romware.com from October 2018 to December 2020.

Before these roles, Nico worked as a Senior Researcher at Nokia Bell Labs from October 2009 to December 2016, focusing on virtualization of telecommunication services and streaming analytics. Nico also served as a Senior Researcher at IBBT from September 2007 to September 2009, working on projects related to Web, Telco, and Enterprise 3.0.

Earlier in their career, Nico was a Software Engineer at DCILabs from September 2007 to September 2009, where they contributed to the development of a laboratory information management system for High Content Screening. Nico also worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Research Student at K.U. Leuven, where they conducted research on various projects related to computer science and telematics platforms.

Throughout their career, Nico has acquired a broad range of skills and expertise in technology, research, and project management.

Nico Janssens pursued their education in Computer Science at KU Leuven. Nico completed their Master's degree from 1996 to 2000, followed by a PhD from 2000 to 2006, both at KU Leuven.
