Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia is a locally funded and operated non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that works to improve the health and well being of children & families by providing the Ronald McDonald House, the Ronald McDonald Family room & supporting programs which assist children and their families. The Ronald McDonald House on South Jefferson Street opened May 5, 1984. RM House became the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia in 1997. In Sept. 2007, the Ronald McDonald Family room was opened on the 14th floor of the Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital.
