Hugo Almonte Dvm, Msc, Diplomate Acvs-La (Hons)

Hugo Almonte, DVM (Hons), MSc, Diplomate ACVS-LA, currently serves as an Associate Surgeon at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital since June 2023. Previously, Hugo completed a Large Animal Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from July 2018 to July 2021, and worked as a Surgery Intern Veterinarian at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute from June 2017 to July 2018. Hugo's early career included a position as a Research Assistant at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine & Veterinary Hospital from May 2014 to May 2017, focusing on Equine Orthopedics. Hugo's educational background includes a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Studies and Veterinary Sciences from Morehead State University, and a foundation in English from the University of Calgary.
