Samuel Read

Samuel Read has a diverse work experience in various industries. Samuel started their career in 2007 as a Quality Assurance Tester at Testology where they tested video games and gained experience in the mobile games industry. In 2010, they joined Hammer PLC as an Account Manager, where they managed accounts and generated new business in the IT storage sector.

In 2013, Samuel returned to Testology, this time in a Business Development role. Samuel was solely responsible for discovering and managing new clients, leading to record growth for the company. Samuel also established Guild For Developers, Guildford's first formalized networking event for the games industry.

Moving on, in 2018, Samuel became the Founder of Guildford.Games, a network that aimed to grow the industry through collaboration and collective marketing. Samuel successfully organized three Guildford Games Festivals and planned more events for the future.

During their time at Guildford.Games, Samuel also held the role of Games & Immersive Partnership Manager at the University of Surrey. Here, they developed strategies for collaboration between the university and the games industry, as well as providing sector knowledge for research funding bids. Samuel also played a key role in delivering the first Guildford Games Festival.

In 2019, Samuel joined Enterprise M3 as a Games Sector Specialist. In this role, they focused on delivering growth for the local Games and Immersive Technology industries. Samuel was proud to have produced the Guildford.Games website, Steam page, and festival.

Most recently, Samuel joined Room 8 Group in 2022 as a Senior Business Development Director. This position highlights their expertise in business development and indicates their current role at Room 8 Group.

Samuel Read attended Farnborough Sixth Form College, where they pursued an Advanced Level degree in Business, Accounting, Electronics, and Product Design. No specific start or end year was provided for this educational experience.
