Abigail Spangler

Abigail (Abie) Spangler has a diverse range of work experience in the field of gender equality and youth development. Abigail (Abie) has held several positions in different organizations where they have focused on incorporating gender, social inclusion, and youth-sensitive approaches into programs and projects. Their experience includes working as a Global Associate Director and Global Manager for Girls' Education & Gender Equality at Room to Read and a Communications Lead at the Coalition for Adolescent Girls. Abigail (Abie) has also worked as an Associate Director for Gender and Youth at ACDI/VOCA, where they provided technical guidance and led research on gender, youth, and social inclusion. Additionally, they have served as a Gender Integration Specialist and Gender Integration Associate at EnCompass LLC, strengthening the integration of gender equality and women's empowerment. Abie's work experience also includes roles as a Youth Development Specialist in the Peace Corps and a Research Assistant at the Human Rights and Neighborhood Services in the City of Eugene. Abigail (Abie) began their career as a Program Assistant at Tenaganita Sdn Bhd.

Abigail (Abie) Spangler has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Cross-Cultural Communications and International Relations from Newcastle University. Abigail (Abie) also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Oregon. In addition, they obtained the Project DPro (PMD Pro) Foundation Examination certification in Project Management for Development Professionals from PM4NGOs in 2022.
