Arun Ranganathan

Arun Ranganathan has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Arun is currently a Co-Founder at Roon since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Pinterest from 2016 to 2021, where they held various positions including Head of Partner Engineering, Software Engineer, and Creative Technology Lead. At Pinterest, their responsibilities included building products, managing the API program, and setting up the technology component of sales engineering.

Before joining Pinterest, Arun worked as a consultant from 2010 to 2015, providing consulting services. From 2008 to 2010, they worked at Mozilla Corporation as a Technology Evangelist and Developer Relations, where they worked on writing technology specifications, chairing working groups, and collaborating on standardization efforts. At the same time, they also served as the Chair of WebGL Working Group at Khronos Consortium, where they contributed to the development of a specification that brought 3D programming to the web.

Arun also had experience working with W3C as an Advisory Board Member from 2007 to 2010, where they provided guidance on issues of strategy, management, and conflict resolution related to web standards. Arun started their career at AOL in 2003 and held positions of System Architect and Principal Engineer, where they worked on algorithmic personalization and technology strategy.

Their early work experience includes working at Netscape Communications as a Principal Engineer and Technology Evangelist from 2001 to 2003, where they contributed to the release of Netscape browsers. Arun began their career as a Software Engineer at Wipro Technologies from 1998 to 2001.
