Ashley Xie has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2015 as a Research Intern for the Cornell Food and Brand Lab. In 2016, they worked as a Resident Advisor for Johns Hopkins University and a Summer Research Assistant for the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. In 2017, they were an Intern for Meadow Lark Farm Dinners, gaining experience in preparing for and hosting large farm dinners, and a Public Relations Intern for Spin PR. In 2018, they were a Communications Intern for the Good Food Foundation, designing signage and vetting small-scale, responsible food manufacturers, and a Public Relations and Marketing Intern for Momofuku, creating Yelp analysis reports and recommending improvements to Momofuku restaurants. In 2019, they were a Food and Nutrition Policy Intern for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Most recently, in 2020, they became a Co-Founder of Rooted Fare.
Ashley Xie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University in 2017, followed by a Master's degree in Food Studies from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in 2020.
