Alaa Abdelrahim, CFA, currently serves as a Design Partner at Roots Community Health Center, where co-design work focuses on creating a community asset map to address systemic inequities and poverty. As a Financial Advisor at SV Family Office since 2019, Alaa provides strategic financial guidance. Previously, Alaa co-founded and served as CEO of Limitless Sports Co from 2017 to 2019, a social venture aimed at enhancing health and wellbeing access in Kuwait. Alaa's extensive financial expertise includes managing the National Bank of Kuwait's proprietary Fixed Income portfolio as VP - Group Investment, a pioneering endeavor in the region focusing on emerging markets. Additional experience includes roles at National Industries Group Holding, IFC - International Finance Corporation, and Noor Financial Investment Company. Alaa holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an Executive MBA from American University of Beirut, and a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Kuwait University.

Roots Community Health Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reducing health disparities in East Oakland, California. Roots is the first community health center in East Oakland to provide physician care at patient homes and residential facilities. Roots Community Health Center celebrated the opening of its new facility at 9925 International Blvd. in March of 2011. Our mission The mission of Roots Community Health Center is to uplift those impacted by systematic inequities and poverty by providing culturally responsive, comprehensive healthcare, behavioral health, and wraparound services; identifying and addressing root causes of illness and suffering; and emphasizing self-sufficiency and community empowerment. Roots Community Health Center accomplishes its mission by providing top-quality healthcare, conducting community-based participatory research, and offering opportunities for rehabilitation, education, training, and employment to reduce poverty and dependency in our community. Roots implements its programs and services while honoring the “roots” of culture, heritage, and tradition; by providing unprecedented access to services; by remaining community-aware and community-responsive; and by establishing partnerships to ensure a more efficient continuum of care in Oakland.
