Joy Gadles

Joy Gadles is an experienced professional with a diverse background in culinary arts, human resources, and insurance. Currently serving as an Account Manager at Roots Community Health Center since March 2021, Joy also holds the position of Insurance Agent at World Financial Group since August 2020. As the Owner and Chef of ChefJoyJoy since March 2016, Joy specializes in personal chef services and event management. Previous roles include Payroll Specialist and Human Resources at Larkin Street Youth Services, and various culinary positions, demonstrating a strong foundation in both culinary and administrative skills. Joy's education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts from California Culinary Academy and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Medical Insurance from Heald College.

Roots Community Health Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reducing health disparities in East Oakland, California. Roots is the first community health center in East Oakland to provide physician care at patient homes and residential facilities. Roots Community Health Center celebrated the opening of its new facility at 9925 International Blvd. in March of 2011. Our mission The mission of Roots Community Health Center is to uplift those impacted by systematic inequities and poverty by providing culturally responsive, comprehensive healthcare, behavioral health, and wraparound services; identifying and addressing root causes of illness and suffering; and emphasizing self-sufficiency and community empowerment. Roots Community Health Center accomplishes its mission by providing top-quality healthcare, conducting community-based participatory research, and offering opportunities for rehabilitation, education, training, and employment to reduce poverty and dependency in our community.
