Shelby Crespi Mph

Shelby Crespi, MPH, currently serves as a Community Relations Specialist at Stanford Children's Health, where responsibilities include managing community partnerships, overseeing budget management, and coordinating the Santa Clara/San Mateo County Safe Kids Coalition. In addition to teaching health classes and conducting community safety workshops, Shelby has experience as a Community Programs Coordinator focused on children's health and safety at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Other roles include Epidemiologist at Roots Community Health Center, where quantitative data analysis is conducted on public health initiatives, and as an adjunct lecturer at Santa Clara University teaching Epidemiology. Shelby's background includes previous epidemiological work at the Santa Clara County Public Health Department and research assistance at the University of Minnesota. Roots Community Health Center

Roots Community Health Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reducing health disparities in East Oakland, California. Roots is the first community health center in East Oakland to provide physician care at patient homes and residential facilities. Roots Community Health Center celebrated the opening of its new facility at 9925 International Blvd. in March of 2011. Our mission The mission of Roots Community Health Center is to uplift those impacted by systematic inequities and poverty by providing culturally responsive, comprehensive healthcare, behavioral health, and wraparound services; identifying and addressing root causes of illness and suffering; and emphasizing self-sufficiency and community empowerment. Roots Community Health Center accomplishes its mission by providing top-quality healthcare, conducting community-based participatory research, and offering opportunities for rehabilitation, education, training, and employment to reduce poverty and dependency in our community. Roots implements its programs and services while honoring the “roots” of culture, heritage, and tradition; by providing unprecedented access to services; by remaining community-aware and community-responsive; and by establishing partnerships to ensure a more efficient continuum of care in Oakland.
